Carolina Bigonha

Work

I'm on a mission to build intelligent, sustainable, and impactful products. Here's a summary of my work so far.

Lemon

Chief Product Officer

Lemon is a climate tech platform that makes clean energy accessible — no solar panel installation, no upfront investment. We connect individuals and businesses to local solar plants, driving distributed energy generation across Brazil.

At Lemon, I lead the product team, shaping how people experience and engage with energy. I focus on building intelligent, user-centered solutions, defining our product vision, structuring high-performing teams, and scaling our impact.

Trybe

VP Product, 2020 - 2023 Director of Product Management, 2020 - 2023

At Trybe, a web development school with an income-share model, I built and led the Product, Design, and Research teams. I owned the end-to-end digital experience—from enrollment to job placement—delivering a hybrid learning platform that combined asynchronous content, live classes, and career support.

As employee #30, I helped scale Trybe’s student base from 70 to 2,500 per year by launching solutions across the full user journey—from acquisition to financing and job placement.

Hekima

Co-founder & Product Lead, 2013 - 2020 Co-founder & Software Engineer, 2008 - 2013

While still in undergrad, I co-founded Hekima, an AI startup that developed end-to-end machine learning systems to help companies make better use of their data.

In Hekima’s early days, we built Zahpee Monitor, a social media AI platform designed for real-time processing and analysis of millions of posts. It featured a resilient infrastructure and supported analysts with advanced AI capabilities. We implemented models for sentiment classification, hierarchical topic clustering, geolocation inference from text, author influence ranking, and active learning to accelerate model training. Zahpee was used by major brands to detect crises, monitor perception shifts, and guide real-time communication—especially during high-volume events like the 2014 World Cup.

As the company grew, I led the design of AI solutions for B2B clients tackling a wide range of business goals—assessing data readiness and co-designing solutions using techniques such as NLP, predictive modeling, and scalable ML architectures. I also led the development of a platform that automated the AI workflow, from data preparation to model design and deployment.

Our solutions were adopted by some of Brazil’s largest enterprises, and in 2020, Hekima was acquired by iFood, Latin America’s leading food delivery company.
